Introduction to the City

The first city introduced in the Bible is the city Cain builds in Genesis 4. As you would expect, the city isn't a very good place. Narratively, cities continue to be places of violence and danger as we progress through the Bible, but, somewhere along the way the description of the city changes from being a creation of man, to being a creation of God (Revelation 21:1-3; 22:1-2).
